SKM Case Study

Sinclair Knight Merz is a leading projects firm, with global capability in strategic consulting, engineering and project delivery. Integral to SKM’s model and philosophy is an absolute commitment to sustainability both in terms of client delivery and internal operation.

SKM moved into their Melbourne headquarters in January 2011. To achieve a 6 star energy rating, power consumption for all electronic equipment needed to fall within a prescribed limit. SKM enlisted The Coffee Box to assist them in coffee machine selection. After extensive research, The Coffee Box decided upon the Rex Royal S300. The Swiss manufacturer measured the consumption of the machine under a variety of test assumptions and the machine was also tested in house. The machine proved itself both to be very efficient and as importantly, produced excellent coffee. The machines were all supplied with an incorporated comprehensive preventative maintenance contract.

After trialling a number of different coffees, SKM decided upon The Coffee Box house blend, Espressohead "Corporate Citizen". The Rainforest Alliance Certified blend is roasted by our award winning roaster who has a developed a roast profile to reflect the brewing characteristics of automatic machines. The coffee is rich and strong with both chocolate and caramel character and has been a hit.
